Get an EICR for your London property

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a document that details the status of an electrical system of a property after it has been inspected by a qualified electrician. These checks are carried out to prove the integrity of an electrical installation. A good report means there is nothing to fix or change with the current system and that it is safe to use.

If you’re a letting agent, landlord, property owner, or just concerned about your electrical system, and you need an EICR in London, Prop Cert’s electricians are here to help you.

It takes an average of only three days to order, test and generate an EICR. It’s efficient and fast, giving you more time to focus on other aspects of property management.

London's largest EICR provider

There are more reasons to get an EICR, including the following:

  1. Older installations may need to be checked regularly, with shorter intervals between inspections. As these systems age, their durability may decline.
  2. Some property types may require regular inspections. A house with a swimming pool, for example, needs to get checked every year.
  3. Severe environmental conditions may affect electrical systems.
  4. Tampering and other misuse of an installation may merit inspection.

In any case, having professionals regularly check the electrical installation on your property offers you the opportunity to identify any potential need for repairs or adjustments. Our electricians are well trained and experienced in working on different installations on various properties. The cost of EICRs is affordable, too, particularly compared to the cost of major repairs and potential liabilities that they prevent.

EICRs for London Landlords

The Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector (England) Regulations 2020 requires landlords to have every fixed installation on their property assessed at least once every five years.

They also need to have a report with the results of the inspection and give their tenants copies of the document within 28 days.

According to the legislation, on 1 July 2020, landlords must give new tenants satisfactory EICRs before they move in. By 1 April 2021, this rule applied to existing tenants.
