EICRs in Blackpool

Electrical Installation Condition Reports in Blackpool

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a document produced after a thorough evaluation of your property’s electrical installations. During the inspection, a registered electrician checks whether all wirings, cables, outlets, and electrical fixtures meet national safety standards.

EICR testing is now compulsory for all new tenancies of rental properties in Blackpool

New regulations mandate landlords to book an EICR inspection every five years for commercial and rental properties. If you’re anticipating a change of tenancy during the 5-year validity period of the EICR, you must secure an updated EICR and carry out necessary remedial work before the new let commences.

EICRs for Landlords in Blackpool

According to the Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector (England) Regulations 2020, all rental properties must undertake EICR testing every five years.

Additionally, EICRs must be secured every 10 years for private properties and every five years for Houses with Multiple Occupation (HMO).

EICR assessments usually take 2-3 hours depending on the size of the property as well as the extent of testing needed. If an installation is found to be defective, we will provide a quote for the appropriate remedial work.

A satisfactory rating in the EICR can only be given once all damages and issues are addressed.
