The Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector (England) Regulations 2020, all landlords must schedule an EICR at least once every five years. All tenants must be given copies of the report within 28 days of the inspection.
Similarly, landlords must present satisfactory EICRs to new tenants before their move-in date. This rule will also apply to existing tenancies by 1 April 2021.
